McQuivey's in Italy
These past two weeks have been more sweet than I could've ever imagined. My parents took their first trip out to Italy and I was able to show them around not only Verona, but Rome, Florence, and Venice. All of my favorites! Being able to tag along and play tourist with them was such a treat for me. I'm so used to occupying myself with the gym, grocery shopping, laundry, etc.. that getting away with my cute parents and being able to witness their first magical experience in Europe was exactly what I needed for a little spark in my life!
The night before they arrived I was up until about 1AM trying to make sure everything was perfect. All of our IKEA furniture was dusted, the 2 square feet of counter space we have was wiped down, and the cozy pull-out couch bed was all dressed and ready for them! I even woke up at 7:00 (yes, that's early for me) just to mop and vacuum again because we have this super light colored tile throughout our apartment that proudly displays EVERY SPECK OF DUST AND DIRT in the universe. No matter how thoroughly I clean it, little dust bunnies come out of no where to make home on my fresh floors. End tile rant. Nonetheless, I was so ecstatic to pick up my parents, and show them where I have made home the past 4 months!
We did it all. went inside of the Verona Arena, visited the House of Juliet, ate gelato, took in the view of Ponte Vecchio, took a peek at the David statue, ate gelato, "rome'd" the Colosseum, explored the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, made wishes in the Trevi Fountain, ate the original Fettuccine Alfredo, admired the Sistine Chapel, strolled the Vatican City, ate gelato, walked across Rialto Bridge, fed pigeons in San Marco Square, took a gondola ride with a singing gondolier, and that is just to name a few. Wouldn't have traded this time with my parents and husband for anything!
So here's an absolute flooding of photos from all of our little trips, ENJOY!
